Teacher-Student (Pro-Am) is a category in DanceSport where an amateur student is partnered with a professional dancer, similar to what you see on Dancing With The Stars. In these events, only the amateur student is judged, leaving the professional free to help their student to look and dance their best. There are several age classifications and skill divisions available, allowing professional partners to dance with all their students, and to ensure they compete against other dancers of similar skill.
